HELLO!
My name is Jorge Casablanca. I am a Broadcasting and Mass Communications Major. I am active duty military, Coast Guard, and just recently, November 2009, moved to New York, USCG Station Fire Island. Prior to my move I was stationed in New London, CT; at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy to be precise.
I have been studying communications, on and off, for just about 8 years now. My mother in law, which is a college professor herself, always points out that it is taking me forever and a day to get my degree done :O). If I keep this pace, hopefully, the big hat day (graduation) will be in the spring of 2011.
I am currently looking forward to the New York way of life. I want to specialize in 'sound engineering' and I am looking forward to get a certification in that area. Now is the right time and place to get it done.
Lastly, when the Coast Guard asked me to move to New York they placed me in a house right on the bay and with an open ocean (Atlantic) in the back. It is located in Robert Moses State Park, Fire Island, where deer, raccoons and rabbits roam freely.
I am looking forward to this course and understand the ever changing World Wide Web.
Good luck to all of you.
Salud,
Gabriel.
