Wiki HowTo

Never used a wiki before? Please complete the following tutorials. But first, a little background.

What is a wiki?

  • A wiki is a web site where everone can add new pages or edit the content of existing pages.
  • Wiki pages have two states, a 'viewing' state where users can simply look at a page (that's what you are doing right now!) and an 'editing' state where users can change the contents of the page.
  • Wiki pages are practically indestructible! You can make all the changes you want, but you can always go back to previous versions of a page.

Some conventions

Our wiki is accessible to the whole world (at least for viewing, not for editing). To protect everyone's privacy, I prefer that you do not use your full name anywhere on the wiki.

Video Tutorials

Please watch the following videos. They are 6-8 minutes each. You may want to keep a separate window open where you can practice what you are learning.
