This course is now over. But you are free to browse through some of the great content generated by students this semester. You can go to each students' page (see Directory below) and follow the links from there, or follow this guided tour: As a way to get students to investigate the workings of Wikipedia beyond the front page of an article, the assignment The Social Life of a Wikipedia Article asked them to write a history of the various edits of an article in the form of a first person narrative told by the article itself. Check out Christian's review of the Wikipedia article for the music genre powerviolence or Sam's assignment on the article for Wilford Brimley. You can also see an example of the collaborative note pages that the students created for the assigned readings (you won't, however, be able to see the online discussion below the notes). The Alternate Reality Game this class was involved in promoting can be best explained by visiting the Save Oswego As a way to facilitate the generation of new media critique, students created some really funny Web 2.0 parodies, such as Garry's Idiot Tube. There were some interesting final projects, such as Cathleen's analysis of the social network website she created for her family, Rob and Lucas' attempt to organize a beach cleanup, or Miaomiao's comparative analysis of attitudes towards blogs and ARGs in China and the US. There are many other examples of good work, but listing all of it would defeat the purpose of this tour.
