Final Project

You can do anything you like for your final project! For instance, you could do:

  • a traditional academic or research paper
  • a video, audio or photo essay
  • a research study of some kind (quantitative like a survey, or qualitative like an ethnography of users) and a discussion of the results
  • a web site or multimedia project
  • etc.

You will be graded on how well you apply what you've learned in this course to your project.

You can work individually or in groups.

You will need to propose your projects and have them "approved" by the whole class. The proposal (see Schedule for due date) should include:
* a short description of your project
* list of team members
* methodology: how you are going to carry out your project
* relevance to the course: how you will be applying what you are learning in class

Please create a new wiki page for your proposal and link it from your user page, as you would do with any other assignment.

All Final Projects must be posted to the wiki.

During Finals Week, you must also review your peers' projects.

Part of the assignment (and your grade) is to review the assignments of the 5 people below you in the Course Directory (see the home page; obviously, you should skip people on your team) and provide meaningful feedback. You have until Wednesday of Finals Week to do this. If there aren't 5 people below you in the Directory, start at the top; e.g. the second to last person would write a review for the last person on the list and the 4 people at the top of the list). Post feedback, comments and questions right on the assignment's wiki page.
